Around late 2023, Olalekan (founder) had spent quite the number of hours playing casual chess when his mother questioned him about his interest in the game, asking if he made money from it and that was the eureka moment -- the moment the idea to monetize the game of Chess came. The picture wasn't really clear at first, but after a couple of trials and errors working on the product, we figured out a way to do it and do it right Fast-forward 2024, Tokengambit was launched.
First, we observed our competitors and quickly figured out cheating would be a big problem if we are to allow high-stakes games. So we designed (still designing) a system that effectively eliminates or rather, makes it significantly difficult to cheat and this is what makes us stand out.
There are different kinds of games (bullet, blitz and rapid) to fit your playing style and even tournaments available on the paid tier for even larger rewards.
